How Do I Use the CanIT Spam Filter?

Spam Filter Instructions

1. Log into http://filter.urdirect.net/canit

a. Username: (complete email address)

b. Password:  (email password)

i. Any problems with this part, please contact system administrator or call us @ 210-692-9911

2. Your first screen will be for “pending” messages.

Here you can review you messages and make the choice:

i. Accept message – this will accept the message one time only, you would have to accept any messages that came in from the same email address everytime it comes in.

ii. Reject message – same as accept, it will reject the message one time only.

iii. Whitelist Sender – use this if the email is from an email account that you know and will receive email from in the future.

iv. Whitelist Domain – this will allow anyone on a domain to send you emails, ie… gmail.com or yahoo.com.

v. Blacklist sender – this will permanently reject any email from that particular sender.

3. After selecting all the actions you wish to apply then click on “Submit Changes” – all actions will be applied and a summary will be displayed.

4. If there are additional messages then repeat process until all pending messages are gone.

Adding Additional Email Addresses

1. Log into http://filter.urdirect.net/canit

a. Username: (complete email address)

b. Password: (email password)

2. Click on Preferences

3. Click on alternate addresses

4. Enter the email address that you wish to add, ie… This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and then click on “add address”.

5. You will now receive and email within 20 minutes asking you to confirm your selection, confirm your choice by clicking the link within the email.

6. Log back in to the Canit Filter after about 20 minutes and all you pending messages should be there.
